Job summary

Datavant is seeking experienced inpatient coders for a fully remote role with a flexible schedule. The ideal candidate has at least 3 years of inpatient coding experience and CCS/RHIT/RHIA preferred.

Strong communication and attention to detail are essential as you will lead and audit coding work while meeting accuracy and productivity benchmarks. We offer a supportive, collaborative environment with training and mentorship, and pay ranges $32–$42 per hour.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of inpatient coding experience
• CCS, RHIT, or RHIA preferred
• Strong verbal and written communication skills

Responsibilities

• Assign diagnostic and procedural codes using ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS codes
• Accurately sequence and abstract codes from patient records with precision
• Oversee and audit the work of Level 1 & 2 Coders where applicable
• Champion documentation improvement opportunities and coding issues with stakeholders
• Maintain 95% coding accuracy and 95% MS-DRG accuracy
• Maintain site-specific productivity benchmarks
• Foster professional communication with colleagues, management and hospital staff
