Datavant is seeking experienced inpatient coders to join our team on a fully remote basis with flexible scheduling. The role emphasizes high attention to detail and in-depth medical terminology knowledge.

Ideal candidates have inpatient coding experience and professional credentials. Responsibilities include code assignment, audits of other coders, and driving documentation improvements while maintaining accuracy and productivity standards.

Qualifications

• Strong verbal and written communication skills required.
• Experience with inpatient coding and AIS/diagnostic coding workflows preferred.
• Familiarity with ICD-10-CM/ICD-10-PCS coding conventions helpful.

Responsibilities

• Assign ICD-10-CM/ICD-10-PCS codes from patient records.
• Maintain coding accuracy and productivity benchmarks.
• Audit and oversee Level 1 & 2 coders where applicable.
• Identify and address documentation improvement opportunities.
• Communicate effectively with clinical and coding teams.
