Job summary

Datavant is seeking experienced inpatient coders to join our remote team. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of inpatient coding experience, CCS/RHIT/RHIA credentials preferred, and strong communication skills.

The role is fully remote with a flexible schedule and focuses on accurate coding, auditing, and documentation improvement across healthcare organizations. Responsibilities include assigning diagnoses and procedures, abstracting codes from records, supervising Level 1/2 coders

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of inpatient coding facility experience
• CCS, RHIT, or RHIA preferred
• Strong verbal and written communication skills

Responsibilities

• Assign ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS codes
• Sequence and abstract codes from patient records with accuracy
• Audit the work of Level 1 & 2 Coders where applicable
• Champion documentation improvement opportunities and coding issues
• Maintain 95% coding accuracy and 95% MS-DRG accuracy
• Maintain site-specific productivity benchmarks
• Communicate professionally with colleagues, management and hospital staff
