Enjoin is seeking an experienced Inpatient Coder to accurately assign ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS codes for complex inpatient records, ensuring documentation reflects severity, ROM, quality outcomes, and appropriate reimbursement.

The role supports hospitals in regulatory compliance, data integrity, and will operate remotely with strong analytical focus and adherence to evolving coding guidelines.

Qualifications

• AHIMA credential (CCS, RHIA, RHIT) required.
• Minimum 3 years of recent acute inpatient hospital coding experience.
• Experience coding at a large acute care hospital.
• Proficiency with ICD-10-CM/ICD-10-PCS codes.
• Strong understanding of MS-DRGs and APR-DRGs.
• Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, Meditech).
• Experience with encoder software (3M, TruCode).
• Analytical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills essential.
• Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment.

Responsabilités

• Review complex inpatient medical records and assign ICD-10-CM/ICD-10-PCS codes.
• Ensure accurate MS-DRG and APR-DRG assignments per guidelines.
• Capture POA indicators and assess SOI, ROM, HACs, HCCs, SDOH, quality measures, and reimbursement.
• Identify qualifying procedures/NTAPs for complete reimbursement.
• Validate discharge disposition documentation for coding accuracy.
• Maintain high coding quality while meeting productivity goals.
• Stay current on ICD-10 updates, Coding Clinic, guidelines, and payer requirements.
• Uphold AHIMA ethical standards and confidentiality.
• Collaborate with internal coding leadership and quality teams.
