Job summary

The Inpatient Coder role at e4health is a remote opportunity focused on accurately abstracting data into client EMR systems in line with ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS guidelines. You will assign ICD-10-CM/PCS codes for inpatient accounts, abstract data for reporting, and determine POA indicators, while querying physicians when information is unclear.

Qualifications

• ICD-10-CM/PCS coding proficiency for inpatient coding
• Able to abstract data for reporting and statistics
• Ability to determine Present on Admission indicators and query physicians when needed

Responsibilities

• Assigns ICD-10-CM/PCS codes for inpatient accounts according to workflow
• Abstracts coded data for hospital statistics and reporting requirements
• Assigns POA indicators and discharge dispositions; communicates issues to appropriate teams
