Baptist Medical Center Jacksonville is currently hiring for a Full-time Inpatient Hospital Coder to join our Appeals & Denials Department at Baptist Metro Square. The role requires accurately coding diagnoses and procedures using ICD-10-CM/PCS and CPT, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations for inpatient accounts.

Education includes RHIT or RHIA or CCS certification, with 3–5 years of acute care coding experience and proficiency in encoder and EHR systems.

Qualifications

• Professional coding in acute care settings preferred.
• In-depth knowledge of ICD-10-CM/PCS and CPT coding conventions.
• Experience with coding audits and denials management is desirable.

Responsabilités

• Identify and assign accurate ICD-10-CM/PCS and CPT codes per patient records.
• Submit abstracted data to billing systems for timely claim submission.
• Collaborate with CDI, HIM leadership, and coders to resolve denials and improve A/R.
• Utilize encoder and EHR tools with attention to compliance and accuracy.
