Job summary

Baptist Medical Center Jacksonville is hiring a Full-time Inpatient Hospital Coder to join our Appeals & Denials Department remotely.

You will code using ICD-10-CM/PCS and CPT-4 for Observation accounts, verify and submit abstracts to the billing system, and support CDI/HIM teams with mentoring and audits. Remote work is available for specified states.

Applicants must have RHIT/RHIA/CCS credentials and 3–5 years of acute care coding experience with strong attention to detail.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years experience in an acute care setting.
• 3–5 years coding knowledge.
• 3–5 years experience working in an acute care setting.

Responsibilities

• Identify and assign ICD-10-CM/PCS codes for inpatient accounts.
• Assign CPT-4 codes on Observation accounts when applicable.
• Verify and submit abstracted information to billing for claims.
• Support CDI and HIM teams and provide mentorship and auditing support.
• Communicate with management regarding coding documentation and denials.
