Job summary

Baptist Medical Center Jacksonville is seeking a Remote Inpatient Hospital Coder to join the Appeals & Denials Department. You will code inpatient diagnoses and procedures using ICD-10-CM/PCS and CPT, verify abstracts, and support denials management from a remote location across approved states.

The role requires RHIT/RHIA or CCS certification and 3–5 years in acute care coding, with strong auditing, mentorship, and EHR skills to ensure accurate coding and timely submission.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of acute care coding experience.
• Experience with ICD-10-CM/PCS and CPT coding.
• Knowledge of coding audits and education.

Responsibilities

• Identify and assign dx/procedures per ICD-10-CM/PCS.
• Assign CPT-4 codes for Observation accounts when applicable.
• Submit abstracts to billing for claim submission.
• Maintain coding AR goals for discharged accounts.
• Support CDI, HIM, and management with coding documentation.
