Pena4 Inc is seeking an Inpatient Medical Coder (CCS certified) for a 100% remote, full-time role. The position requires 5+ years of IP PCS coding experience, CCS certification, and preferred 3+ years of outpatient coding. Immediate start with a required coding assessment test.

Familiarity with Cerner, PowerChart, 3M and EPIC systems is expected. The coder will ensure accurate ICD-10-CM/PCS coding, CPT/HCPCS usage, and DRG optimization while maintaining high productivity and collaboration with

Qualifications

• 5+ years IP PCS coding experience required.
• CCS certificate is required.
• OP coding experience 3+ years preferred.
• 100% remote position with full-time hours.
• Start date: immediately; coding assessment test will be required.
• W2 regular employment.

Responsibilities

• Examine the complete medical record to determine principal and secondary diagnoses and procedures.
• Sequence diagnoses and procedures to maintain high accuracy (target 95%).
• Aim for optimal DRG assignments with computer system support.
• Maintain productivity and quality at a consistent level.
• Escalate when additional information is needed for accurate coding/DRG assignment.
• Regularly review coding literature and stay current with guidelines.
• Complete all assignments as directed by management.
• Pursue continuing education and professional development.
• Collaborate with team to meet client goals.
• Perform related duties or special projects as assigned.
