Job summary

Pena4 Inc is seeking an Inpatient Medical Coder with CCS certification for a 100% remote position in the United States. The role requires at least 5 years of IP PCS coding experience and a CCS certificate, with additional OP coding experience preferred.

You'll work with ICD-10-CM/PCS and CPT coding using Cerner, PowerChart, 3M, and EPIC systems. Immediate start and testing assessments are part of the consideration process.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of inpatient PCS coding experience.
• CCS certificate is required.
• Proficiency in ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS.
• Experience with CPT coding.
• Ability to work with major EHR systems.

Responsibilities

• Examine complete medical records to determine principal and secondary diagnoses and procedures.
• Sequence diagnoses and procedures to achieve accurate DRG assignments.
• Aim for high accuracy and optimal DRG assignments with system assistance.
• Maintain productivity and quality with consistent performance.
• Coordinate with staff and leadership to obtain necessary information for coding.
• Stay current with coding guidelines and share updates with colleagues.
• Complete assignments conscientiously and reliably as directed by management.
• Pursue continuing education relevant to coding.
• Collaborate with team to meet department and client goals.
• Undertake additional duties or projects as assigned.
