Job summary

Vail Health is seeking a friendly, detail-oriented Admitting/Clerical Scheduling Clerk to join our outpatient imaging and cardiopulmonary scheduling team in Colorado. You will verify patient demographics, insurance, and orders, schedule procedures, and coordinate with providers, staff and patients to ensure accurate, timely pre-registration.

Strong communication, basic medical terminology knowledge, and proficient computer/typing skills are required.

Qualifications

• Previous admitting or clerical experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
• Computer/Typing: must have basic computer skills and typing ability.
• Must have working knowledge of English (reading, writing, speaking).

Responsibilities

• Accurate and timely scheduling of Outpatient Imaging and Cardiopulmonary procedures.
• Verify patient demographics and insurance details to create Pre-Registration Encounters.
• Answer incoming phone calls, take messages, prioritize and redirect as needed.
• Ensure demographic and insurance information is up to date and diagnoses support medical necessity.
• Create complete Pre-Registration accounts for all scheduled appointments.
• Coordinate with clinic staff, providers and technologists to streamline scheduling processes.
