Job summary

Geosyntec Consultants, Inc. seeks a Technical Editor to support our North America East Region offices, including MA, NJ, PA, MD, DC, VA, NC, SC, TN and beyond. This role may be performed remotely, in a hybrid capacity, or from a Geosyntec office, with required overlap during Eastern Time.

You will edit documents produced by engineers and scientists to ensure clarity, accuracy, organization, and quality, advising on structure and presentation within deadlines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in technical writing, English, science or engineering; two years of progressive editing experience.
• Experience editing complex technical, scientific, engineering, environmental, regulatory, or consulting documents.
• Experience editing documents from multiple authors; ensures quality, consistency, grammar and clarity.
• Excellent formatting, writing, editing, and proofreading skills.

Responsibilities

• Organize, review, and edit technical, business, and marketing material following guidelines.
• Proofread copy for spelling, grammar, and clarity; provide feedback to originator.
• Review documents and propose revisions for scope, format, and methods of production.
• Stay current on developments in technical writing and publishing; assist as needed.
