Job summary

Geosyntec Consultants, Inc. is seeking a Technical Editor to join our North America East Region editing team. The role supports offices nationwide including Acton MA and Washington DC, with remote or hybrid options and overlap with Eastern Time.

You will review documents produced by engineers and scientists, ensuring clarity, consistency, and quality across technical reports, proposals, and presentations. The successful candidate holds a technical writing/engineering degree and 2+ years editing

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in technical writing, English, science or engineering, plus 2+ years of editing experience.
Experience editing complex technical, scientific, or engineering documents for clarity and accuracy.
Experience editing documents from multiple authors; primary reviewer for quality.
Excellent grammar, spelling, and formatting standards.
Ability to meet client deadlines.

Responsibilities

Organize, review, and edit technical, business, and marketing material using MS Office.
Ensure documents meet audience needs and quality standards.
Proofread for spelling, grammar, and clarity; provide feedback to originator.
Recommend revisions to document structure and presentation.
Suggest layouts, graphics, tables to support objectives.
Keep documents updated; coordinate with subject-matter experts.
Stay current on technical writing developments.
Perform other duties as assigned.
