Job summary

Geosyntec Consultants, Inc. is seeking a Technical Editor to join our editing team and support engineers and scientists across the East Region.

You will review documents, ensure clarity, consistency, accuracy, organization, and quality, and edit multiple authors into cohesive, professional reports. This role offers flexible options including remote, hybrid, or office work within the United States, with requirement to align with Eastern Time Zone business hours.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in technical writing, English, science or engineering, or related field.
• Minimum of two years of progressive editing experience in a business setting.
• Experience editing complex technical, scientific, engineering, environmental, regulatory, or consulting documents.
• Ability to read documents and edit for clarity of voice and subject.
• Excellent formatting, writing, editing and proofreading skills.
• Excellent English grammar, spelling, and terminology knowledge.
• Strong written and verbal communication to convey edits clearly.

Responsibilities

• Organize, review, and edit technical, business, and marketing material per established guidelines.
• Apply knowledge of science, engineering concepts, and language to ensure audience-appropriate content.
• Proofread for spelling, grammar, clarity, and formatting; provide feedback to originator.
• Review documents and recommend revisions on structure, scope, format, and production methods.
• Recommend layouts, graphics, tables, or charts to amplify document objectives.
• Periodically review documents and coordinate content updates with subject-matter experts.
• Stay current on developments in technical writing and publishing.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
