Job summary

Geosyntec Consultants, Inc. seeks a Technical Editor to support its North America East Region offices. The role may be remote, hybrid, or office-based within the United States, with overlap into Eastern Time.

You will review documents produced by engineers and scientists to ensure clarity, accuracy, and quality for diverse audiences. As part of the editing team under a Senior Technical Editor, you will improve structure, content, and presentation while maintaining firm guidelines and ensuring

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in technical writing, English, science or engineering, or related field (required).
• Experience editing complex technical, scientific, or environmental documents (preferred).
• Experience editing documents from multiple authors; primary reviewer for quality (required).
• Ability to edit for clarity, voice, and audience (required).
• Strong grammar, formatting, and communication skills (required).
• Proficiency with MS Office and Adobe Acrobat (required).

Responsibilities

• Organize, review, and edit technical, business, and marketing material following guidelines.
• Apply science/engineering knowledge to ensure audience-appropriate content.
• Proofread for spelling, grammar, and formatting; ensure final copy accuracy.
• Review documents and suggest revisions on scope, format, and dissemination.
• Recommend layouts, graphics, or charts to enhance objectives.
• Stay current on developments in technical writing and publishing.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
