Geosyntec Consultants, Inc. is seeking a Technical Editor to support our North America East Region with a focus on clarity, consistency, and quality of technical documents.

The role offers flexible work options (remote, hybrid, or office) and requires overlap with Eastern Time Zone hours for team needs. The successful candidate will edit documents produced by engineers and scientists, ensuring accuracy and effectiveness for the audience, under supervision of a Senior Technical Editor.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in technical writing, English, science or engineering or related field.
• Minimum two years of progressive editing experience in a business setting.
• Experience editing complex technical, scientific, or environmental documents.
• Ability to edit for clarity, grammar, and audience.
• Excellent formatting, writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
• Advanced Windows proficiency with MS Office and Adobe Acrobat.

Responsibilities

• Organize, review, and edit technical, business, and marketing material following guidelines.
• Identify missing material and inappropriate content for intended audience.
• Proofread for spelling, grammar, clarity, and formatting consistency.
• Recommend revisions to improve document quality and presentation.
• Suggest layouts, graphics, tables, or charts to clarify objectives.
• Remain current on advances in technical writing and publishing.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
