Job summary

SOLV Energy is seeking an HV SCADA Engineer II to support design, configuration, testing, and commissioning of high voltage SCADA systems for renewable and substation projects. The role offers remote work options or office locations across the U.S., with 20% travel for onsite work.

The ideal candidate has 2–4 years SCADA experience, strong drawing interpretation, and hands-on programming in RTAC/SCADA environments, plus excellent communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, or related technical discipline preferred.
• 2 - 4 years of SCADA engineering experience (substation SCADA preferred).
• Ability to read electrical single-line, equipment layout, and panel drawings.
• Knowledge of protection relays and power meters.
• Experience with substation coordination and interconnects.
• Experience with IEC61131-3 programming languages (Structured Text).
• Experience with SCADA networks (Fiber, RS-232/RS-485, Ethernet).
• Familiarity with PLC platforms (Schweitzer RTAC, Allen-Bradley, GE/Emerson).
• Understanding of Modbus, DNP3, OPC UA/DA.
• Excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Review SCADA system requirements for substations and renewable projects.
• Support HV SCADA design development and drawings.
• Verify substation point lists against relay/meter settings.
• Program and commission RTACs, Phasor Data Concentrators, and HMIs.
• Coordinate network settings and IP assignments for substation equipment.
• Troubleshoot communication issues between devices and controllers.
• Provide technical support for various substation configurations.
• Communicate with customers, vendors, and field technicians during commissioning.
• Ensure installation aligns with project drawings and conditions.
• Travel up to 20% for onsite work.
