Job summary

SOLV Energy seeks an HV SCADA Engineer II to design, configure, test, and commission HV SCADA systems for utility-scale renewables and substations. Remote work is allowed or you may work from Bend, OR; San Diego, CA; or Raleigh, NC. Travel about 20% for on-site commissioning and installation support.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Controls Engineering or related technical discipline preferred.
• 2-4 years of SCADA engineering experience (substation SCADA systems preferred).
• Ability to read engineering drawings including SLDs, equipment and panel drawings.
• Knowledge of protection relays and power meters.
• Experience with programming languages such as C, C++, Java, Python, IEC61131-3.
• Experience with SEL acSELerator RTAC and acSELerator Quickset.
• Ignition SCADA or other HMI software experience.
• Knowledge of SCADA networks: Modbus RTU/TCP, DNP3, OPC UA/DA.

Responsibilities

• Review SCADA requirements for substations connected to renewable energy projects.
• Support HV SCADA design development and drawings to meet specifications.
• Program and commission RTACs, Phasor Data Concentrators, and HMIs.
• Coordinate network settings and IP assignments for substation equipment.
• Travel for on-site commissioning and installation support (~20%).
• Promote NERC compliance and governance in programming and commissioning.
