Job summary

SOLV Energy is seeking an HV SCADA Engineer II to provide intermediate engineering support for design, configuration, testing and commissioning of HV SCADA systems on utility-scale renewable and substation projects. The role is fully remote or based in Bend, OR; San Diego, CA; or Raleigh, NC.

Travel up to 20% is required to support on-site commissioning and installation with customers, vendors, and field technicians.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical or controls engineering preferred.
• 2–4 years of SCADA engineering experience with substations preferred.
• Ability to read engineering drawings (single-line, layout, wiring diagrams).
• Knowledge of protection relays, meters, and PLCs (SEL RTAC, Allen‑Bradley, GE/Emerson).
• Experience with industrial protocols (Modbus, DNP3, OPC UA/DA).
• Excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Review SCADA requirements for substations in renewable projects.
• Support HV SCADA design, development drawings, and specs.
• Program and commission RTACs, PDs, and HMIs.
• Coordinate network settings and IP assignments for substation equipment.
• Troubleshoot communications between devices and controllers.
• Provide technical support for substation equipment configurations.
• Communicate with customers, vendors, field technicians during commissioning.
• Ensure safety and compliance with NERC standards.
• Report project status, risks, and mitigations with management.
• Travel up to 20% on-site.
