Job summary

SOLV Energy is seeking an HV SCADA Engineer II to provide intermediate engineering support for design, configuration, testing, and commissioning of HV SCADA systems on utility-scale renewable and substation projects. This role may be remote or based in Bend, OR, San Diego, CA, or Raleigh, NC, with 20% travel onsite.

Responsibilities include reviewing SCADA requirements, developing designs, programming RTACs, and coordinating network settings, while ensuring compliance with NERC and SOLV

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, or related technical discipline preferred.
• 2–4 years of SCADA engineering experience, with substation SCADA preferred.
• Ability to read and understand engineering drawings (Single-line, Equipment Layout, Diagrams).
• Knowledge of protection relays and power meters.
• Experience with utility coordination and interconnects.
• Experience with programming languages (C, C++, Java, Python, IEC61131-3).
• Experience with SCADA software such as acSELerator RTAC/Quickset and Ignition.

Responsibilities

• Review SCADA system requirements for substations connected to utility-scale projects (Solar PV, BESS, Wind).
• Support HV SCADA design, development, and drawings to meet specs.
• Verify point lists against relay and meter settings files.
• Program and commission RTACs, PDOCs, and HMI systems.
• Coordinate network settings and IP assignments for substation equipment.
• Troubleshoot communication between substations and controllers.
• Provide technical support for diverse configurations.
• Communicate with customers, vendors, and field technicians for on-site commissioning.
• Compare drawings to site conditions to ensure correct installation.
• Travel ~20% onsite as required.
• Learn and adopt organization software/hardware.
