Job summary

SOLV Energy is seeking an HV SCADA Engineer II to provide intermediate level engineering support for design, configuration, testing, and commissioning of HV SCADA systems on utility-scale renewable and substations projects. The role supports EPC delivery under established standards and supervision.

Role can be fully remote or based in Bend, OR; San Diego, CA; or Raleigh, NC. 20% on-site travel expected with project teams and field personnel.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, or related technical discipline preferred.
2–4 years of SCADA engineering experience (substation SCADA experience preferred).
Ability to read engineering drawings (One-line, Layout, Communications Diagrams).
Knowledge of protection relays and power meters.
Experience with PLC environments (Schweitzer RTAC, Allen-Bradley, GE/Emerson).
Understanding of Modbus RTU/TCP, DNP3, OPC UA/DA.

Responsibilities

Review SCADA system requirements for substations on renewable energy projects.
Support HV SCADA design development and drawings to meet project specs.
Program and commission RTACs, PDCs, and HMI systems.
Coordinate network settings and IP assignments for substation equipment.
Troubleshoot communication issues between substations and controllers.
Provide technical support for diverse substation configurations.
Communicate with customers, vendors, and field technicians during commissioning.
Ensure installation aligns with project drawings and site conditions.
