Job summary

SOLV Energy is seeking a qualified HV SCADA Engineer II to provide intermediate engineering support for design, configuration, testing, and commissioning of HV SCADA systems on utility-scale renewable projects. The role supports EPC delivery under established standards and supervision.

Position offers remote work or office locations in Bend, OR, San Diego, CA, or Raleigh, NC. Travel and collaboration with customers, vendors, and field technicians are essential components of the role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, or related technical discipline preferred.
• 2–4 years of SCADA engineering experience (substation SCADA experience preferred).
• Ability to read Electrical Single-line, Equipment Layout, Communications Diagrams & Panel Drawings.
• Knowledge of protection relays and power meters.
• Experience with point-of-demarcation, interconnect agreements, and design standards with utilities.
• Experience with programming languages including C, C++, Java, Python, IEC 61131-3 Structured Text.

Responsibilities

• Review SCADA system requirements for substations linked to utility-scale renewable projects.
• Support HV SCADA design development and drawings to meet project specs.
• Program and commission RTACs, Phasor Data Concentrators, and HMIs.
• Coordinate network settings and IP assignments for substation equipment.
• Troubleshoot communication issues between equipment and controllers.
• Provide technical support for various substation configurations.
• Communicate with customers, vendors, and field technicians during on-site commissioning.
