Job summary

SOLV Energy is seeking an HV SCADA Engineer II to provide intermediate engineering support for the design, configuration, testing, and commissioning of high voltage SCADA systems on utility-scale renewable and substation projects. The role can be fully remote or located in Bend, OR, San Diego, CA, or Raleigh, NC.

Travel approximately 20% for on-site commissioning and execution. The position emphasizes adherence to NERC standards, coordination with vendors and field teams, and ongoing development

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering or related field.
• 2–4 years of SCADA engineering experience, preferably with substations.
• Ability to read electrical single-line diagrams, equipment layouts, and communications drawings.
• Knowledge of protection relays and power meters.
• Experience with substation interconnection and utility interfaces.

Responsibilities

• Review SCADA system requirements for substations in renewable energy projects.
• Support HV SCADA system design development and drawings.
• Verify substation points lists against relay and meter settings.
• Program and commission RTACs, Phasor Data Concentrators, and HMIs.
• Coordinate network settings and IP assignments.
• Troubleshoot communication issues between devices and controllers.
• Travel as needed for on-site commissioning (approx. 20%).
• Ensure safety and NERC compliance.
