Job summary

SOLV Energy, Inc. is seeking a High Voltage Preconstruction Project Manager to lead all preconstruction activities for HV infrastructure projects, from concept through handoff.

This fully remote role requires coordinating planning, estimating, scheduling, budgeting, and risk assessment with clients and internal teams. You will manage bids, develop execution strategies, and ensure alignment across engineering, procurement and operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CM, Engineering or related field.
• 7+ years in electrical construction and HV projects.
• 3+ years leading preconstruction activities.
• Experience with substations, transmission lines, solar, wind, BESS.
• Experience managing projects over $10M.
• Familiarity with HV substations, transmission & interconnection requirements, EPC/design-build.
• Ability to interpret drawings and contract documents.

Responsibilities

• Lead preconstruction for HV projects 12kV–500kV+.
• Oversee planning, budgeting, scheduling, constructability reviews.
• Develop execution strategies that align with client objectives and company goals.
• Coordinate preconstruction deliverables from inception through turnover.
• Prepare conceptual, budgetary and detailed estimates.
• Analyze designs, specifications and bid documents.
• Review labor, equipment and material pricing.
• Maintain estimating databases and market pricing trends.
• Serve as the primary preconstruction contact for clients, utilities, consultants, and internal stakeholders.
• Facilitate kickoff meetings and stakeholder alignment.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships.
• Identify project risks and develop mitigation plans.
• Develop detailed project schedules with cross-functional teams.
• Monitor critical path activities and milestones.
• Support procurement strategy and evaluate proposals.
• Coordinate with engineering, operations, finance, procurement, and business development.
• Ensure smooth handoff from preconstruction to construction operations.
