SOLV Energy, Inc. is seeking a High Voltage Preconstruction Project Manager to lead all preconstruction activities for HV electrical projects including substations, transmission, and BESS.

The role oversees planning, estimating, budgeting, risk, and client coordination from concept to handoff, with full remote work and discussions for location during interviews. Minimum requirements include a relevant degree and 7+ years in HV electrical construction or PM, plus 3+ years leading preconstruction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Electrical Engineering, PM, or related field.
• 7+ years in electrical construction, high-voltage projects, estimating or project management.
• 3+ years leading preconstruction activities preferred.
• Experience with substations, transmission lines, utility-scale solar, wind, BESS, or industrial electrical projects.
• Experience managing projects exceeding $10M preferred.
• Familiarity with high-voltage substations, transmission/distribution systems, interconnection requirements, codes, EPC and design-build.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and contract documents.

Responsibilities

• Lead preconstruction efforts for high-voltage electrical projects ranging from 12kV through 500kV+ systems.
• Oversee project planning, budgeting, scheduling, and constructability reviews.
• Develop project execution strategies that align with client objectives and company goals.
• Coordinate preconstruction deliverables from project inception through construction turnover.
• Prepare conceptual, budgetary, and detailed cost estimates; analyze designs and bid documents.
• Review labor productivity, equipment requirements, and material pricing; identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Maintain estimating databases and market pricing trends.
• Serve as primary preconstruction point of contact for clients, utilities, consultants, and internal stakeholders.
• Participate in project pursuit and proposal presentations; facilitate kickoff meetings and stakeholder alignment.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships throughout the project lifecycle.
• Identify project risks, lead constructability reviews, and develop mitigation plans.
• Develop detailed schedules with engineering, operations, and procurement teams.
• Monitor critical path activities and milestones.
• Support procurement strategy; solicit and evaluate vendor proposals; develop scopes of work.
