Job summary

SOLV Energy, Inc. is seeking a High Voltage Preconstruction Project Manager to lead all preconstruction activities for high-voltage electrical infrastructure projects, including substations, transmission lines, renewable energy interconnections, BESS, and industrial power distribution systems.

This fully remote role requires coordinating planning, estimating, scheduling, budgeting, and client management from concept through handoff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred in Construction Management, Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Project Management, or related field.
• 7+ years of experience in electrical construction, high-voltage projects, estimating, or project management.
• Experience with substations, transmission lines, utility-scale solar, wind, BESS, or industrial electrical projects.
• Experience managing projects exceeding $10M preferred.
• Electrical codes and industry standards.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and contract documents.

Responsibilities

• Lead preconstruction activities for high-voltage electrical projects (12kV–500kV+) from concept to handoff.
• Oversee planning, budgeting, scheduling, and constructability reviews.
• Develop execution strategies aligned with client objectives and company goals.
• Coordinate preconstruction deliverables from inception through turnover.
• Analyze designs, specs, and bid documents for estimating and cost management.
• Review labor productivity, equipment needs, and material pricing.
• Maintain estimating databases and market pricing trends.
• Serve as primary contact for clients, utilities, consultants, and internal stakeholders.
• Participate in project pursuit and proposal presentations.
• Facilitate kickoff meetings and stakeholder alignment sessions.
• Build and maintain client relationships throughout the project lifecycle.
• Identify risks related to scope, schedule, procurement, labor, permitting, site conditions.
• Review execution plans for safety, quality, and efficiency.
• Collaborate with engineering, operations, procurement to develop schedules.
• Identify long-lead equipment requirements (transformers, breakers, switchgear, protection).
• Monitor critical path activities and milestones.
• Solicit and evaluate vendor/subcontractor proposals.
• Align estimates, schedules, and execution plans.
