Job summary

TemPositions Group of Companies seeks a Hearing Representative for Special Education Claims to support a New York City agency on a remote, 1+ year contract.

You will manage a high-volume caseload of 100–200 claims, prepare for and participate in administrative hearings, and negotiate settlements. Collaboration with parents, public advocacy groups, and opposing counsel is key, and you will ensure compliance with federal and state education laws throughout intake, hearings, and final resolution.

Qualifications

• Active bar license in good standing in any U.S. state.
• Minimum 1+ years of litigation experience.
• Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and remote working tools.
• Ability to manage 100–200 cases concurrently.
• Willingness to log activities in 15-minute increments.
• Comfort with Eastern Time Zone hearing schedules (7 AM–7 PM).
• Preferred background in Administrative Law, IEP/Special Education, or public agency work.

Responsibilities

• Manage a high-volume caseload of 100–200 special education claims, ensuring timely and effective handling.
• Represent the agency in administrative hearings, pre-hearing conferences, and settlement negotiations.
• Navigate procedural requirements and ensure compliance with federal and state education laws and regulations.
• Prepare and review filings, agreements, and reports with accuracy and thoroughness.
• Collaborate with parents, advocates, and opposing counsel to achieve fair resolutions while negotiating attorney’s fees.
