Job summary

TemPositions Group of Companies is seeking contract Hearing Representatives to support a New York City special education claims project. You will handle intake through resolution, represent the agency at administrative hearings, and negotiate settlements on behalf of parents and the city, while managing a high-volume caseload.

The ideal candidate has an active bar license in good standing, 1+ years of litigation experience, and strong Microsoft Office and virtual collaboration skills.

Qualifications

• Active bar license in good standing in any U.S. state.
• 1+ year of recent litigation experience.
• Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office and virtual tools.

Responsibilities

• Case management: manage a high-volume caseload of 100–200 claims.
• Representation: prepare for and litigate complex cases in administrative hearings and settlements.
• Administrative process: navigate procedural requirements and ensure compliance with education laws.
• Documentation: prepare and review filings, agreements, and reports with accuracy.
• Settlement negotiation: work with parents and counsel to reach fair resolutions and fees.
• Training and collaboration: collaborate with specialists and attorneys; provide training to staff.
• Research and compliance: analyze case law and guide on compliance for hearing orders.
