Datavant is seeking experienced, credentialed outpatient coders to join a fully remote, flexible team focused on healthcare data coding. The role emphasizes accuracy in diagnoses and procedures, proper code sequencing, and adherence to coding ethics.

Candidates should maintain credentials, manage continuing education, and engage withDatavant Health sponsored trainings to stay current. Candidates will work from home with a focus on accuracy, productivity, and professional communication,

Qualifications

• AHIMA credential or AAPC credential required.
• 2+ years hospital coding experience.
• Proficiency in Same Day Surgery, Observation, Injections/Infusions.
• Proficiency in Ancillary, Emergency Department, Injections/Infusions, E/M leveling.
• Strong written and verbal communication; adept at remote work and time management.
• Experience with encoding/abstracting software; HIPAA testing annually.

Responsibilities

• Review medical records and assign codes for diagnoses and procedures.
• Sequence codes based on documentation.
• Assign discharge disposition.
• Abstract and enter coded data for hospital reporting.
• Communicate coding issues to appropriate personnel for follow up.
• Maintain high coding and APC accuracy rates and productivity standards.
• Track continuing education credits to maintain credentials.
• Attend Datavant Health sponsored education meetings.
