Qualifications

• Typically requires 5 years of experience in a medical environment performing medical interpretation and translation and supervising staff.
• Includes 1 year of supervisory experience in a medical environment.
• Bachelor's Degree in Health Care Administration or Nursing is required.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and diagnostic/treatment processes.
• Familiarity with ethics of medical interpreting per the NCIHC.

Responsibilities

• Leads and accountable for system-wide translation and interpretation programs.
• Oversees quality monitoring and improvement initiatives for translation services.
• Develops relationships with management and staff to support LEP and Deaf/HOH access.
• Designs activities to promote Translation and Interpretation Services within the health system.
• Develops budgets and monitors costs in collaboration with the director.
