Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Health Care Administration or Nursing as stated.
• 5+ years in medical environment with medical interpretation/translation.
• 1 year supervisory experience in a medical setting.
• Command of bilingual medical terminology across anatomy, diagnostics, treatment and education.
• Knowledge of medical interpreting ethics per NCIHC.
• Ability to handle challenging messages including death and dying.
• Excellent human relations and communication skills.
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with video interpreting techniques.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and implementation of system-wide translation and interpretation.
• Participate in strategic planning for language services across the system.
• Ensure quality monitoring and improvement of translation services.
• Maintain relationships with management, staff and medical teams for LEP and deaf/hard of hearing patients.
• Design activities to promote Translation and Interpretation Services.
• Develop capital and operating budgets with the director and monitor variances.
• Manage staff, provide training and evaluations, and handle HR actions.
• Lead safety initiatives and risk mitigation measures.
• Oversee performance reviews and staff morale.
