Advocate Health is seeking an experienced leader to oversee Language Access Interpreter Services. This role directs the Command Center and supervises scheduling and staff development, ensuring compliant, high‑quality interpretation across the system.

Candidates should have 5+ years in medical interpretation, 1 year supervisory experience, and a Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration or Nursing. Strong ethics, communication skills, and budget management are essential to drive system‑wide

Qualifications

• Typically requires 5 years of experience in a medical environment performing medical verbal and written interpretation.
• Includes 1 year of supervisory experience in a medical environment.
• Bachelor's Degree in Health Care Administration or Nursing.

Responsibilities

• Provides leadership and assumes accountability for the development and implementation of system-wide translation and interpretation systems.
• Participates in strategic planning related to the provision of language services throughout system.
• Provides leadership and accountability for quality monitoring and improvement initiatives related to provision of translation and interpretation services.
• Establishes and maintains strong working relationships with management, employees and medical staff to develop their abilities to work with LEP and the deaf/hard of hearing.
• Designs activities to improve, promote and publicize Translation and Interpretation Services within the health system.
• Develops capital and operating budgets in conjunction with the director.
• Monitors budget, analyzes variances and takes appropriate action.
• Manages activities of employees; facilitates training and continuing education; selects, trains, develops, evaluates subordinates and initiates personnel actions.
• Participates in safety initiatives and completes required competencies; performs HR responsibilities for staff.
