Job summary

Reston Consulting Group Inc is seeking a Customer Support – Hardware Installation Technician – Level I to provide field support for a government client. The role covers hardware installation, site surveys, network configuration, documentation, and end-user support.

This position is primarily remote, with on-site reporting as required. A high school diploma and at least one year of technical customer support experience are required, and eligibility for a Public Trust is mandatory.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• At least 1 year of technical customer support experience.
• Experience with hardware installation, network equipment, and peripherals.
• Basic knowledge of network configurations and hardware.
• Ability to document technical requirements and site surveys.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and coordinate installation activities.
• Must be available to report on-site as required.
• Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Public Trust.

Responsibilities

• Conduct site surveys to document network configurations and requirements.
• Assist with designing network topologies and hardware acquisitions.
• Prepare and maintain installation drawings and documentation.
• Install and configure hardware and network equipment at customer sites.
• Test and troubleshoot installed systems and connectivity.
• Train site personnel on hardware usage and operation.
• Create and maintain installation reports and TDPS.
• Coordinate installation schedules and communicate progress.
