Job summary

Reston Consulting Group Inc. seeks a Customer Support – Hardware Installation Technician – Level I to provide field support for a federal contract. The role is primarily remote, with on-site reporting as required at customer locations in the Rockville, MD area.

Responsibilities include site surveys, network configuration, preparing Technical Design Packages, documentation, scheduling, and training site personnel to ensure installations are performed correctly and efficiently.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 1 year of technical customer support experience.
• Experience installing or supporting computer hardware and network equipment.
• Ability to document technical and user requirements clearly.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and report on-site when required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct site surveys and document network configurations and user needs.
• Assist with network topology design and hardware acquisitions.
• Prepare and maintain Technical Design Packages (TDPs) and drawings.
• Develop hardware installation schedules and install/configure equipment.
• Test installed equipment, troubleshoot basic issues, and train site personnel.
• Maintain accurate installation documentation and reports.
