Job summary

RCG, Inc. is seeking a Customer Support - Hardware Installation Technician - Level I to provide CS field support for our government client. The role includes hardware installation, network configuration, site assessments, documentation, and end-user support.

The position is primarily remote with on-site reporting as required. Candidates must be U.S. Citizen or LPR and eligible for a Public Trust, with strong communication and documentation skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year of technical customer support experience.
• Experience installing, configuring, or supporting computer hardware, network equipment, and peripherals.
• Basic knowledge of network configurations and network hardware.
• Ability to read, develop, or maintain technical drawings and installation documentation.

Responsibilities

• Conduct site surveys to assess and document existing network configurations and user requirements.
• Assist with the design and optimization of network topologies.
• Analyze technical requirements and prepare specifications for hardware acquisitions.
• Prepare engineering plans and site installation Technical Design Packages (TDPs).
• Develop and coordinate hardware installation schedules.
• Prepare drawings documenting configuration changes at customer sites.
• Prepare site installation and test reports.
• Configure computers, communications devices, and peripheral equipment.
• Install and configure network hardware.
• Test installed equipment and troubleshoot basic hardware and connectivity issues.
• Train site personnel on the proper use and operation of installed hardware.
• Build specialized interconnecting cables as required.
• Maintain accurate technical and installation documentation.
