ABB's Distribution Solutions Division seeks a Senior Technical Business Developer to lead grid automation growth in the U.S., partnering with utilities and key stakeholders. The role blends technical depth with market strategy to advance offerings like SSC600, SMU600, and CogniEN.

Remote-first position nationwide, with preference for Cary, NC or Houston, TX, reporting to Product Marketing and Global Portfolio teams. Travel up to 30% may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Power Systems.
• 9+ years in technical business development in grid automation or power systems.
• Deep knowledge of U.S. utility market dynamics and major standards (IEEE/IEC 61850).
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience with SaaS/subscription models in energy.
• Familiarity with DERMS, DLR, and state estimation tech.
• Willingness to travel up to 30% domestically and internationally.

Responsabilités

• Lead U.S. growth by identifying opportunities, shaping market penetration, and securing product homologation with utilities.
• Act as grid-automation SME, lead pre-sales technical activities, and support solution design.
• Contribute to vPAC and IEEE working groups to shape standards and interoperability.
• Build strategic partnerships and evolve offerings like SSC600, SMU600, CogniEN.
