Blacksmith Agency is a remote agency building websites and running paid and organic programs for US clients. As General Manager, Digital Agency you run the company day to day, with Sales, recruiting, delivery and marketing all reporting to you.

You will oversee four department leads, set the weekly rhythm, manage profitability, and steer critical commercial negotiations. This role demands bold leadership, clear communication, and a track record of growing teams and margins.

Qualifications

• Proven sales leadership with quota responsibility at VP of Sales, CRO, or sales-led GM levels.
• Experience in digital, marketing or creative agencies; SaaS or professional services also acceptable.
• Experience managing multiple functions and leading a large team under one function.
• Reported growth from about 40 to 140 people in prior roles.
• Owns a profit metric and margins, not just revenue.
• Strong negotiation experience on contracts and vendor terms.
• Excellent communicator, able to align four leaders and a founder on current truths.

Responsibilities

• Oversee four department leads and drive their development, reviews, and accountability.
• Own weekly rhythm, quarterly priorities, and necessary tradeoffs when priorities clash.
• Focus on profitability through delivery margins and optimal project selection.
• Lead commercial conversations: client contracts, redlines, and vendor terms.
• Coach and institutionalize leadership across the organization.
• Make day-to-day decisions that today sit with the founder, ensuring timely execution.
