Job summary

SMX is seeking a Software Engineer - Front End Web Applications to design, build, and support the BAS BAS solution. This remote role supports a Washington, DC-based customer and requires a Public Trust clearance.

The engineer will work with SAC Analytics Designer to develop features, review designs, and optimize performance across enterprise web apps. Strong JavaScript, REST API, and UI/UX skills are essential, with a focus on scalable, maintainable code.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of front-end web development using JavaScript, HTML5, CSS.
• Experience with REST APIs and JSON/XML data formats.
• Strong OO design and debugging skills.
• Ability to work independently and in teams.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• U.S. citizenship and Public Trust clearance.

Responsibilities

• Build enterprise planning and reporting applications using SAC or other web technologies.
• Develop and implement highly interactive UI/UX components.
• Review requirements and interface designs; monitor and improve front-end performance.
• Document application changes and updates; participate in code reviews and feedback on UI/UX designs.
• Optimize web applications for scalability and speed.
