Job summary

SMX is seeking a Software Engineer - Front End Web Applications to design, build, and support the BAS SaaS product. You will contribute to interactive UI features using SAC or standard web tech, review designs, and optimize performance for scalable enterprise apps.

The role requires 5+ years in frontend development, strong JavaScript, REST API knowledge, and US citizenship for federal clearance. Remote role supporting a DC-based customer with a competitive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS or related field or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years in frontend web tech: JavaScript, HTML5, CSS; strong JS knowledge.
• Experience with REST APIs, XML/JSON data formats.
• OO programming/design, web dev and debugging.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Strong programming skills and clear communication.
• Public Trust security clearance requirement; US citizenship.

Responsibilities

• Build and enhance enterprise planning and reporting apps using SAC or web tech.
• Review requirements and interface designs; implement interactive UI/UX components.
• Monitor frontend performance and optimize for scalability.
• Document changes and provide updates; participate in code reviews.
• Contribute to feasibility discussions for UI/UX designs.
