Job summary

Affirm, Inc. is seeking a Fraud Operations Manager to lead multiple fraud operations teams, shaping strategy and driving efficiency. You will mentor leaders and ICs, align cross-functional partners, and ensure high standards of accuracy and productivity in a remote-first environment.

You will define an operational roadmap, reduce risk, and implement AI-enabled tooling to improve workflows. This role emphasizes inclusion, accountability, and scalable performance across the fraud organization.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of disputes, fraud risk prevention and detection within FinTech/tech industry.
• 5+ years in fraud management or related people management roles, including leading managers or senior ICs.
• Demonstrated success setting strategy and delivering large-scale operational change with measurable impact on efficiency, quality, and customer experience.
• Strong strategic planning, risk management, and prioritization skills with ability to balance short-term delivery and long-term capability building.
• Exceptional executive communication and influence skills with ability to align diverse stakeholders.
• Proven experience in leading teams through major change and comfort with ambiguity.
• Experience with AI project-driven initiatives (e.g., AI-enabled tools, automation to improve efficiency).
• Experience in Lean Six Sigma, continuous improvement, and data-driven methodologies.
• Working knowledge of scripting & querying languages (e.g., Python, SQL) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop a group of people leaders and ICs across multiple fraud ops teams, providing feedback and career development.
• Drive team performance using metrics such as productivity, quality, customer outcomes, and service levels.
• Foster a high-performing, engaged team environment in a fast-paced setting.
• Partner with recruiting to hire, onboard, and retain top talent.
• Define and champion an operational strategy and roadmap to improve function, efficiency, quality, and compliance.
• Leverage domain expertise to implement transformational changes and streamline investigator workflows.
• Ensure accountability for service levels and productivity; manage queue health with data-driven burn down plans.
• Translate business goals into clear team objectives and align cross-functional partners.
• Serve as escalation point for complex merchant or stakeholder issues; establish incident resolution frameworks.
