Job summary

Jobgether seeks an experienced HR leader to provide independent guidance for a multi-state remote workforce. You will advise leadership on HR best practices, consult with employees on leave and accommodations, and research state-specific employment requirements while maintaining strict confidentiality.

Ideal candidates have 7–10+ years in HR, strong employee relations, and the ability to navigate across jurisdictions in a flexible consulting role. Availability during U.S.

Qualifications

• 7–10+ years of progressive human resources experience at director level or equivalent.
• Experience supporting remote/multi-state workforces.
• Working knowledge of employment law fundamentals (FMLA, accommodations, leave requirements).
• Ability to research state regulations and seek legal guidance when needed.
• Strong judgment to escalate to counsel when appropriate.
• Discretion, integrity, and confidentiality.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, handling sensitive matters professionally.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Available during U.S. Eastern or Central business hours.
• Flexible fractional engagement up to 10 hours per month.

Responsibilities

• Provide HR leadership and practical guidance for a multi-state remote workforce.
• Advise leadership on HR best practices for distributed staff.
• Consult with employees on personnel matters including leave requests.
• Research and interpret state-specific employment requirements.
• Ensure HR practices align with regulations and policies.
• Escalate sensitive matters to corporate counsel when needed.
• Design and implement employee education and training programs.
• Serve as a responsive HR contact for questions from employees and leadership.
• Maintain strict confidentiality of employee information.
• Operate independently with proactive communication to stakeholders.
• Support sound personnel decisions with discretion and HR best practices.
