Placements24 is seeking an experienced Fleet Operations Manager to lead a remote team overseeing a national logistics fleet. You will drive efficiency, safety, and cost-effectiveness across regions, with emphasis on telematics, maintenance scheduling, and regulatory compliance.

The role requires expertise in fleet management software, data analysis, and leading remote coordinators and drivers while coordinating with teams across regions, including East London.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, or related field.
• 5+ years in fleet management or transportation operations.
• Experience managing large vehicle fleets and improving efficiency.
• Familiarity with South African regulations and compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day fleet operations for optimal performance.
• Develop strategies to reduce fuel, maintenance, and insurance costs.
• Manage vehicle maintenance schedules and coordinate with providers.
• Ensure compliance with transportation laws, safety regulations, and policies.
• Implement and manage fleet management software for tracking and reporting.
• Supervise remote fleet coordinators and drivers.
• Build relationships with suppliers, maintenance providers, and regulators.
• Analyze fleet data to identify trends and improvements.
• Respond to breakdowns, accidents, and delays.
• Develop driver training programs focused on safety and service.
