Job summary

Affirm, Inc. is seeking a Senior Sales Engineer to join the Merchant Engineering team.

You will combine technical expertise with strong communication to design scalable, reliable checkout integrations for enterprise merchants, guiding them through technical architectures and long-term platform adoption. You will collaborate with Sales, Engineering, and Product to deliver compelling solutions, build reusable content, and deliver demos that illustrate value across e-commerce and payments

Qualifications

• BA/BS degree in business/technology, or equivalent technical account management experience.
• 4+ years in Sales Engineering, Solution Architecture, Partner Engineering, or related roles.
• 3+ years in payments/fintech or related industry.
• Strong technical acumen in API integrations, SaaS, and enterprise architectures.
• Experience with checkout processes and payment systems in e-commerce.
• Excellent communication and ability to explain complex concepts clearly.
• Willing to travel up to 30% of the time.

Responsibilities

• Serve as subject matter expert on integration solutions for merchants.
• Architect end-to-end solutions addressing merchant challenges and tradeoffs.
• Build trust with internal and external technical stakeholders.
• Partner with sales and partner engineering to drive opportunities.
• Provide voice of the customer to influence product direction.
• Create reusable assets and training materials for scale.
• Contribute technical input to sales planning and forecasts.
• Develop pre-sales materials and product documentation.
• Build and present custom demos as required.
