Job summary

Coinbase, Inc. is hiring Software Engineers for Developer Infrastructure to help build and operate core platform services used by thousands of engineers. You will work on CI/build systems, deployment orchestration, and test infrastructure, delivering reliable, secure software from day one.

You’ll own components end-to-end, collaborate across Coinbase teams, and contribute to design discussions to raise the quality bar and efficiency of engineering workflows.

Qualifications

• 2+ years building and operating production software with distributed systems fundamentals.
• Shipping backend or platform features with ownership from implementation to production.
• Good operational instincts focused on reliability, security, and observability.
• Clear communication and ability to drive scoped projects with minimal guidance.
• Customer-focused mindset measuring impact on engineers and teams.
• Experience with CI/CD, build systems, deployment tooling, test infrastructure, or developer productivity engineering.
• Experience with Kubernetes, AWS, GitHub Actions, Terraform, or containers (Docker/OCI).
• Experience with observability and performance tooling.

Responsibilities

• Build, ship, and operate core developer-infrastructure services for CI, build systems, deployment orchestration, and test infra.
• Improve metrics around build/CI speed, deployment safety, and test feedback.
• Own components end-to-end from implementation to monitoring and on-call rotation.
• Write high-quality, production-grade code and review peers' work.
• Collaborate with Coinbase engineering teams to translate pain points into platform improvements.
• Contribute to technical design and drive work items to completion.
