Job summary

Coinbase is hiring Staff Software Engineers in the Developer Infrastructure group. You will own the tools and systems every Coinbase engineer depends on to build and ship software, including CI and deployment orchestration.

Lead cross-team initiatives, set architectural direction, and drive reliability with SLOs and observability. We value hands-on leadership, delivering production-grade platforms, and mentoring engineers while maintaining humanity in our workflows.

Qualifications

• 8+ years building and operating production distributed systems.
• Hands-on in Go or a comparable systems language and CI/CD/build tooling.
• Leadership on cross-team initiatives and architecture direction.

Responsibilities

• Own core developer infrastructure platforms, including CI/build systems and deployment orchestration.
• Identify highest-leverage problems and drive concrete technical roadmaps across teams.
• Drive improvements to build/CI wall time, deploy speed and safety, and developer feedback latency.
• Lead strategic cross-cutting initiatives end-to-end, including large-scale migrations.
• Raise reliability through SLOs, observability, and on-call resilience.
• Mentor engineers through design review, pairing, and shared ownership.
