Job summary

ROARK is seeking an experienced Controller to own the accounting function during a critical growth phase. This hands-on leader will manage day-to-day accounting, close processes, reporting, and inventory accounting while transitioning from outsourced support to a strong in-house function.

The role reports to the CFO and requires a proactive mindset, GAAP fluency, and the ability to work independently in a remote setup.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
• Experience in consumer products, eCommerce, retail, or inventory-driven environments.
• Hands-on controllership with month-end close ownership.
• Strong GAAP and financial reporting knowledge.
• Inventory accounting experience; Shopify preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead the monthly accounting close and maintain GL integrity.
• Own accounting processes and systems, driving accuracy.
• Strengthen inventory accounting and related controls.
• Prepare internal and external financial reporting.
• Support banking, insurance, and other external partners.
• Manage reconciliations, journal entries, accruals, and close tasks.
• Transition activities from outsourced to in-house ownership.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, controls, and reporting.
• Partner with CFO while driving priorities and deadlines.
• Prepare for advanced reporting and future audits.
