RethinkFirst is seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist to join the accounting and finance team in a remote-friendly role based in Iowa. The role handles full-cycle AP, invoicing in Sage Intacct, matching to POs, and month-end close support.

Qualifications include 3–5 years of AP experience, strong Excel skills, and a bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance. Excellent communication and the ability to work independently are essential.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of full-cycle Accounts Payable experience.
• Strong understanding of AP principles and general accounting practices.
• Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP).
• Experience with Sage Intacct or similar ERP system.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and organizational abilities.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Manage the full-cycle AP function, including monitoring the AP inbox and entering invoices in Sage Intacct with accurate GL coding.
• Match invoices to purchase orders and receiving documentation with proper approvals.
• Reconcile vendor statements and resolve invoice discrepancies in a timely manner.
• Communicate with employees, vendors, and internal departments about AP questions.
• Reconcile AP-related GL accounts and assist with month-end close activities.
• Review and process employee expense reports and corporate card transactions.
• Serve as the point person for our procurement tool, including user support and approval workflow maintenance.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and internal controls.
• Assist with audit requests and provide AP documentation as needed.
• Identify opportunities to improve AP processes and increase efficiency.
