Job summary

University of Phoenix is hiring a Financial Aid Officer I to process federal, state, and other financial aid for students in a fully remote environment. You will ensure compliance with Title IV regulations, provide high-quality service, and collaborate across departments to resolve issues affecting students’ aid disbursement.

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of a portion of student financial aid processing and Title IV/state regulations.
• General knowledge of the higher education industry.
• Previous customer service and/or processing center experience.
• Strong computer skills and ability to learn proprietary software applications.
• Proven ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks efficiently and effectively, and meet production/quality requirements.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills to convey ideas and influence outcomes.
• Flexibility and adaptability to changes in regulations and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Analyze, research, and accurately process aid including Title IV financial aid, state grants, scholarships, and other types of aid for a single function.
• Ensure compliance with ED Title IV regulations and university policies; maintain accuracy and timely processing.
• Collaborate with colleagues to resolve issues and complete processes in the student financial aid file.
• Provide adequate department coverage and maintain service levels for the function.
• Work scheduled hours and potentially weekend hours as needed by business needs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
