Job summary

The Nature Conservancy is seeking a Finance Manager, AR, IA, MO to lead budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and close processes for a finance pod supporting three business units. The role partners with leaders to deliver strategic financial guidance and ensure program sustainability.

Responsibilities include planning, analysis, and financial oversight across conservation, philanthropy, and operations, with strong emphasis on internal controls, policy adherence, and cross-team collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or related field with 4 years’ related experience
• Minimum of 2 years of experience using Workday or similar HRIS/ERP systems including data entry, reporting, analysis
• Demonstrated ability to serve as a strategic finance partner and influence decision-making
• Experience in financial planning, forecasting, budgeting, reporting and translating financial information into insights
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and strong analytical abilities
• Excellent verbal and written communication and strong organizational skills

Responsibilities

• Manages budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, financial close, pledge reviews, grant administration, lease & asset certifications, and related financial management activities for a pod in partnership with the Finance Director.
• Provides financial analysis, modeling and insights to inform planning and operational decisions.
• Maintains accuracy and internal controls over financial data, systems and processes.
• Supports implementation of financial strategies and finance process improvements.
• Serves as approver of accounts receivable and payable, coordinating with the accounting specialist as needed.
• Supports management and tracking of private awards and funding proposals with philanthropy team.
• Executes and supports delivery of finance services across the pod in coordination with other finance teams.
• Monitors compliance with policies, controls and regulatory requirements; escalates issues.
• Provides guidance and training as a main contact for BU staff questions.
• Posts revenue accruals and receipts for non-contribution revenue.
• Other duties as assigned.
