Job summary

bioMérieux seeks a Field Systems Engineer to service customers across the U.S. and nationally, using advanced tools to install, repair, and optimize instruments with minimal supervision. The role requires strong troubleshooting, customer service, and cross‑functional collaboration in a remote setting with travel.

The position offers substantial field exposure, training in Durham or St. Louis during the first year, and a rotation of on‑call duties.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Engineering or related discipline.
• 2+ years of professional experience in troubleshooting and/or repair of complex electro‑mechanical, electronic systems.
• Education substitution: 6+ years of relevant experience.
• Valid driver’s license in state of residence.

Responsibilities

• Respond to customer needs and perform installations, maintenance, upgrades, and repairs.
• Build trust with customers, promote service agreements, and identify sales opportunities.
• Drive field service revenue through preventive maintenance and equipment moves.
• Attend product training at Durham, NC or St. Louis, MO within the first year; ongoing trainings.
• Travel for customer visits, with significant overnight stays and some national travel.
• Participate in weekend/holiday on‑call rotation and document work orders accurately.
